Measures taken by the Ministry
The Ministère uses the SSL security protocol as it ensures confidentiality and the integrity of the documents transmitted between your computer and the Revenu Québec server.
During transmission, this protocol transforms your data into an encrypted code that is impossible to read (128-bit encryption). Your data thus encrypted are then transformed back into readable data once at their destination. Encryption is a process that converts information into a secure format for transmission.
The SSL protocol can also check the identity of the parties (user and Revenu Québec) who are communicating via the Internet.
The Ministère has servers that securely store user data.
